The Milford Trek

About halfway through our trip in New Zealand my family and i decided to do a four day trip through the Fjords of NZ. The trek was called The Milford Trek. When we first started the trip I was tired and covered in bugs within the first ten minutes! I wasn't to happy about that but i kept going. The trek was a total of four days of trekking up and around mountains. We began our trip walking through the more forest like area of the trek and we passed various huts along the way. After the first day of hiking the guide gave us a talk on proper walking shoes for us to be hiking. The most exciting part of the night was all of the freeze dried food like mac-and-cheese and noodle dishes of all sorts. On the second day, nothing really special happened but the next day, we came upon a "slight incline" which wasn't very slight at all. If i were to hold up my hands and show you how steep this incline was i would probably over exaggerate and put them at a 45 degree angle. toward the endish we climbed a mountain which was difficult but definitely worth it. The view was spectacular merging on magical!!! More next time.

The first day

The first day that my family and I arrived in New Zealand, it was lightly sprinkling rain. I myself have do idea how i noticed that because of the state of delirium i was in. I had just gotten off the plane and heard the accents coming from the people around me. if you can imagine the sound of a British mixed with the sound of the Australian than you know exactly what these people sounded like. Greta and i were both walking like zombies toward the baggage claim while our parents tried to get a grip on where to go. By some miracle we ended getting on the shuttle to take us to Hamilton. when we started to drive away from the airport, Greta and I both realized that we were driving on the wrong side of the road. we tried to tell our parents that we were going to have a head on collision with the people coming the other way. That was until we realized that the people in New Zealand drive on the other side of the road. That was pretty scary. we drove along the country side for what seemed like hours but was only an hour and a half. Our entire family was amazed at how green and luscious this place was. We were surrounded by trees that were so green they were like exaggerated special effects. There were farms along both sides of the road. It was spectacular! We finally arrived at our house in Hamilton. Our friends the McBarks were there waiting for us. They had cleaned up our house for us so it was "clean enough for use". Greta and i deliriously climbed up the stairs to reach the bedrooms. We each claimed a room, and being the nice brother that i am, let Greta have the nice room which had Oreos under the bed. That night when we went to sleep I was tired enough not to notice that my bed was hardly a bed at all. it was almost like it was a sheet offabric with another sheet of fabric under it. I woke up the next morning with my back aching so much i could hardly stand up straight. this was an interesting way to start a new life.

The Main Idea

This blog is for all of you people out there to find out what happened while I was in New Zealand. I hope you all enjoy!

The story of the Dragons Breath

Once upon a time my family and i were caving in New Zealand and we came to a part in the cave called the dragons breath. This part of the cave is actually optional to get out of the cave but we wanted to do it anyway. This was the second time i have been in this part of the cave. My sister Greta, is the one who is leading the line of people who are going through the cave. When we came to the point where the cave comes to a split in the tunnel, my dad was trying to see if we could come out a certain way but he said that there wasn't a way to get through that part. My sister and i thought of this as normal so we continued on in the wrong part of the tunnel. It actually took us an extra half hour to get through the part. We had to squeeze through the tunnel which wasted a lot of energy to get out. in the end our mom had to get through but she ended up turning around. There uncle tim happy now or is this "this is nice."
